YOUR ROLE IN THE TEAM :
Katalon TrueTest is an AI-augmented test automation solution that automatically discovers, models, generates, and maintains user-journey test cases. TrueTest provides a streamlined test generation process, saving time and improving testing efficiency. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will be part of a cross-functional team of passionate technologists assessing software quality of our platform. You will design a modern, innovative testing approach and implement test automation solutions that help maintain and improve your team’s velocity. You will take on a variety of new challenges and establish expertise in several areas of quality engineering, and contribute to initiatives within the organization.
Core Responsibilities
- Learn our existing automation-first quality approach to reflect the maturing complex architecture of our platform
- Design and implement robust, reusable automation scripts using advanced patterns to ensure high reliability and maintainability across test scenarios.
- Conduct exploratory testing (using Rapid Software Testing methodology) as needed
- Provide precise, reproducible, and actionable defect observations to enable swift resolution and improved collaboration with development teams
- Efficiently plan, execute and track assigned tasks within each sprint, ensuring alignment with Agile workflows and timely progress updates
- Actively participate in scrum activities and contribute to effort estimation for testing tasks, based on experience and technical insights
- Share insights, findings, and learnings from testing practices with the broader Quality Engineering team to promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement
Must have
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/ Software Engineering or equivalent
- Demonstrated understanding of Test methodologies and principles
- A minimum of 5 years in software testing, including at least 2 years of hands-on experience with automation frameworks and tools such as Katalon, Selenium, Cypress, and Playwright.
- Knowledge of testing APIs and back-end services
- Experience with Performance Testing using tools such as Jmeter, K6
- Passionate about product development and providing actionable feedback to product team
- Strong Exploratory and Ad-hoc testing skills
- Hands-on experience collaborating within Scrum Team in an Agile environment
- Fluent English communication skills
Nice to have
- Knowledge of AI/ML Services on AWS or other Cloud Platforms.
- Knowledge of modern ecosystems and automated build/deployment pipelines (Jenkins, Github, Azure Pipelines, etc);
- Some experience in a leadership role (QA Lead or Test Lead) of a team;
- Experience with Native App Automation frameworks/tools such as Appium/Katalon Studio;
- Have knowledge about AWS fundamentals.
